Brinson’s Race is available for rental for the purposes of personal, group or organizational retreats, facilitated by Laura Overstreet Biering, another representative of True Voices, or another facilitator of your choice. Laura’s bio is available on her website, www.truevoices.com. For more information on popular workshop topics and customization, please call Laura at 404-296-8221.
Should you decide to visit Brinson’s Race for a day, a week, or a month-long retreat, there are a few things you should know:
- There is an abundance of wildlife, much of which you will hope to see, and some of which you won’t. We ask that you take normal precautions as you stroll around the fields or through the woods to the “little pond,” and be alert to the possible presence of snakes, poisonous plants, and the like. Please know that we have never known anyone to be bitten or poisoned; we just ask that you are aware of the possibility, and that you be careful.
- We also ask that you take care to leave the land as you found it (or better!), free of any litter or other evidence that you have been there. Of course, footprints are fine! They are sure to blend right in with the footprints of deer, wild turkey, bobcats, raccoons, Laura’s friendly dogs, and the occasional footprints of creatures unidentifiable!
- In addition, we require that there be no smoking of any kind within the limits of the property. Several people in the family have died of lung cancer, including Dr. Overstreet himself. In his memory and the memory of all who have suffered this fate, we ask that you honor this requirement, and make no exceptions.
We hope that you have not been put off by these requirements, but instead remain intrigued; ready, even, to pack your bags and head this way.
Brinson’s Race is waiting to welcome you!
